GRADING PROCEDURES
CLASS PARTICIPATION
Students will not be graded on their athletic ability or fitness scores, however actively participating in physical education is extremely important in order to successfully complete the course. In this class, students are expected to participate appropriately to the best of their ability in all aspects of the class including warm-up activities, flexibility and strength building activities, and game-play situations.
Each day a student actively participates in the class they earn 10 participation points (formative). At the end of the week those points will be combined into a weekly assessment grade (summative). No points are earned if a student chooses not to participate in the class activities. In the case of an ill or injury, students are required to submit a parent/doctor notification to excuse their participation. If a student becomes ill or injured and a note is not submitted it is at the teacher's discretion to determine if a student is excused from participating.
